Education Sponsorship
A sponsorship programme for deserving SPM leavers to pursue their tertiary education at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and other top leading local and overseas universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan and South Korea.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Outstanding Academic Achievements
- SPM of the current year
- Local Programme: Obtained minimum SPM 8A & CEFR (B1)
- Oversea Programme: Obtained minimum SPM 4A+ & 4A & CEFR (C1)
Note: Please note that the eligibility criteria for your application may vary depending on your selected discipline (technical or non-technical). 2. Strong Leadership
We look beyond academics and considers the impact that students have made outside of the classroom. Participation in clubs, sports, community service, leadership roles, and other activities can greatly enhance an application.
3. Wholesome Assessment
- Personality & Cognitive Assessment (Online assessment)
As part of our commitment to selecting the most deserving candidates, we have designed a comprehensive evaluation process to gain a deeper understanding of your unique qualities and capabilities.
The purpose of this assessment is to measure various aspects of your personality traits and cognitive abilities. By examining these factors, we aim to evaluate and identify the qualities that are aligned with the role of a scholar with PETRONAS. - Student Potential Assessment (Face-to-face assessment)
This is a face-to-face interview where candidates will be assessed by our own PETRONAS assessors. The assessment is designed to measure candidates' leadership and behavioural qualities.

Our selection committee is committed to identifying and nurturing the most promising talent among the applicant pool. In selecting the deserving wholesome talents, each application is carefully reviewed, considering academic achievements, personal character, leadership potential, and community impact.
As it is highly competitive, we want to emphasize that only those who meet the requirements will be shortlisted and selected for final award.

Education Sponsorship (Mid-Education)
A sponsorship programme for outstanding candidates who have secured a conditional offer / firm acceptance or currently studying at the approved universities in UK or US pursuing degree programmes that are approved by PETRONAS as part of efforts to capture crème de la crème students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a Malaysian citizen NOT more than 22 years old
- Applicant must NOT be under any other form of sponsorships
- Applicant has NO disciplinary cases or suspended during study
1. Outstanding Academic Achievements
- Undergraduate Students:
- Currently studying programmes in UK or US universities approved by PETRONAS
- Latest academic results of at least or equals to CGPA 3.70 / First-Class Honours
- Remaining academic year must at least be one full academic year
OR
- Pre-U Students:
- Secured conditional offer / firm acceptance for programmes in UK or US universities approved by PETRONAS

Our selection committee is dedicated to recognizing and fostering the most promising individuals from the applicant pool. Each application undergoes thorough review, taking into account academic accomplishments, personal character, leadership aptitude, and community engagement.

Internship
A dynamic platform designed to provide undergraduates experiential learning opportunity and first working exposure in the energy industry and engage in various areas of a global company's operations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Application is open for Malaysian citizen only.
- Undergraduate degree from local or overseas higher learning institutions where internship is a mandatory part of course completion in disciplines relevant to PETRONAS.
- Diploma from local or overseas higher learning institutions where internship is a mandatory part of course completion in TECHNICAL or ENGINEERING disciplines relevant to PETRONAS.
- Minimum duration for internship is eight (8) weeks and maximum of eight (8) months.
- The following documents MUST be submitted via the application portal (Incomplete submission will not be entertained):
- Curriculum Vitae
- Copy of latest academic results
- Copy of the Industrial Training / Internship Letter (signed by the University)

- The application is open based on availability of placement and must be submitted three (3) months prior to the commencement of internship period.
- Only successful candidates will be contacted for internship placement. If you do not receive any reply from us within two (2) months after your application date, please consider your application as unsuccessful.

GEES
PETRONAS is supporting PROTEGE-RTW initiative through its Graduate Employability Enhancement Scheme (GEES). GEES aims to enhance employability of new graduates to obtain long term employment or to set up their own businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
- Malaysian citizen not more than 26 years old.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree holder with minimum CGPA of 3.0.
- Unemployed or under-employed in non-relevant areas of graduate’s qualifications.
- Have not attended any similar programme offered by other GLCs / companies.
Terms & Conditions
